Piano roll

Working with the Piano roll

The piano roll will play notes for any Instruments loaded on the current Playlist track, see Rack.

  • Add Notes — Tap on the empty grid.
  • Delete note — Tap and hold note (use delete pop-up).
  • Note controls — Tap notes to open the Copy, Delete, Snap controls.
  • Selection — Tap on the background (wait for the selection rectangle to show), drag across notes to be selected and release.
  • Snap — Short-tap to turn on/off. Long-press to open Snap Options:

    • Steps 1/6 to 1 (step) — Absolute grid values equal to the nominated fraction of a step.
    • Beats 1/6 to 1 (beat) — Absolute beats values equal to the nominated fraction of a beat.
    • Bar — 1 bar.

    Converting from Steps/Beats to commonly used note values:

    1/4 Step 64th notes
    1/2 Step 32nd notes
    1/4 Beat 16th notes
    1/3 Beat Triplets
    1/2 Beat 8th notes
    1 Beat Quarter notes
    Bar Whole note

    To quantize notes: 1. Set a snap value from the snap icon. 2. Make a note selection and use the Snap option from the note controls popup.

Главным минусов программы является то, что софт не переведен на русский язык. Конечно же, это усложнит процесс создания трека, но со временем к этому недостатку привыкаешь и забываешь про такое неудобство.

FL Studio Mobile для Android – хорошая программа, которая подойдет как для творческих людей, так и понравится обычным пользователям. В софте вы найдете большое количество нужных функций, множество классических и уникальных музыкальных инструментов, но если ее сравнивать с компьютерной версией, то она явно немного отстает от своего собрата.

Automation Clip

An Automation Clip moves the target parameter. You can create automation clips for most interface controls. Just move them then use the CTRL menu on the Transport Bar to add an Automation Track for that target.

NOTE: You can drag and select multiple points to delete, mode or copy and paste them.

Creating Automation Clips

You can automate most movable control on FL Studio Mobile. All knobs and sliders. To manually create an automation clip for a target:

  1. Tweak/move the target control
  2. Tap CTRL on the
  3. Select ‘Add Automation Track‘
  4. Tap the Automation Track and add an empty Automation Clip
  5. Tap the Automation Clip and Edit
  6. Tap in points using the pop-up editor(see above)

NOTE: If you are recording and move any parameter an Automation Track and Clip will be automatically created. You can go back in and edit the performance later.

Working with Automation Clips

Automation Clips can either be manually created OR can result from manual tweaking of a control while in Record mode.

Link a control to an existing Automation Clip:

  1. Select the Automation Clip track in the Playlist.
  2. Tweak/move the target control
  3. Tap CTRL on the
  4. Select ‘Link to current track‘.

Overview

FL Studio Mobile is designed to work on any screen from the size of a phone to TV sized touch-monitors. Each FL Studio Mobile 3 Playlist track has an associated ‘Rack’. This can contain any number of instrument AND effects plugins. The only limit is your CPU power. There are now also automation-clip style tracks that can be edited just as you can now in FL Studio for the desktop.

Instruments

  • DirectWave — This is a sample player and is useful for traditional sounds such as Piano, Orchestra, Guitar etc. There are many included sample banks. Or you can purchase more from the .
  • MiniSynth — Is a fully featured synthesizer with a low processor overhead and great sound. There are 1000’s of patches available for it on the user forums or you can create your own.
  • GMS (Groove Machine Synth) — Is a multitimbral hybrid synthesizer & FX channel from the FL Studio (PC), Groove Machine plugin.
  • Transistor Bass — Transistor bass is a monophonic bass-line style synthesizer for creating resonant-style basslines and leads.

Workspaces

  • Home Button — Load and save, MIDI input/s, CPU/Audio settings, Metronome loudness and Shop.
  • Playlist — Arrange Note, and Audio Clips to create songs.
  • Rack — Add instrument and effects.
  • Main Mixer — Adjust levels, panning and solo.
  • Editors — Depending on the selected Clip in the Playlist. The appropriate editor will show here. Use the Piano roll, Automation and Wave editors.
  • Keyboard, Drumpads & MIDI Controllers — Depending on the track type, Drums or Notes, the appropriate controller will show here, keyboard or Drumpads.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I save my project as an audio/music file? — Use the Save > MP3 or WAV on the Home Tab. Your audio file will end up in the FL Studio Mobile installation folder under ../My Tracks. If your operating system supports it, you can also choose other save locations.

External MIDI Controllers

FL Studio Mobile can connect to external wired or Bluetooth MIDI controllers.

To connect and play from your MIDI Keyboard or Drumpads:

  1. Start FL Studio Mobile.
  2. Connection to your device:
    • Wired — If you are using a MIDI controller connected directly to your Mobile device. Many Android and iOS devices need an OTG (On The Go) adapter to convert from a larger USB A type output from the MIDI controller to your Android or iOS device (examples below).

      Connect your MIDI controller to your device or computer. It should be detected by the system. If you are shown an option to use the controller as a default, select it.

      NOTES: On Android devices you may need to activate OTG Storage under the Android System settings to connect to your MIDI device. Not all mobile devices can supply the power requirements of a MIDI controller. If this is the case, the MIDI controller will not work and you may get a warning from your mobile device. If your MIDI controller has capability to use a dedicated power supply, use it to reduce the drain on your devices battery.

    • Bluetooth — If you are using a Bluetooth MIDI controller switch on Enable MIDI over Bluetooth / Manage Bluetooth devices.

      • Android — this will open a Location Access permission. Location Access permission. This is (See ‘LE Beacons note), as it’s possible to guess your location from nearby Bluetooth devices. We ONLY use Bluetooth for MIDI keyboards and we DO NOT try to guess your location or send any data to our servers.
      • iOS — Tap the Bluetooth icon to open the Bluetooth MIDI devices control panel. iOS finds nearby peripherals and displays them here. To use a device select it and it will be automatically paired with FL Studio Mobile. Once connected, the peripheral appears as a MIDI device, just like any other connected MIDI device.
  3. Optional — From the FL Studio Mobile Home panel > Settings page tap on MIDI Device. You can choose your device by name (if its visible) or use the default ‘Any available’.

  4. You should now be able to Play keys/pads on your controller. The selected Playlist track will decide which instrument/s you can play and record.

MIDI Learn — Link a knob or slider on your controller to a knob/control in FL Studio Mobile:

  1. After following the ‘connect to external MIDI controller’ steps above:
  2. Tweak/move the target control in FL Studio Mobile.

  3. Open CTRL on the transport panel.

  4. Select Link to MIDI CC

  5. You will see a message: ‘Waiting for CC’.

  6. Tweak/move the control on your MIDI controller and the link is made.

  7. You can now control the parameter in FL Studio Mobile from your MIDI Controller.

Audio Clips

When loading an Audio Clip track, FL Studio mobile will make available files in . FL Studio Mobile supports 8, 16, 24 and 32 integer and IEEE float waves. *.wav format and .MP3 format. NOTE: MP3 format files include a very short period of silence at the start. This is part of the MP3 conversion process and can put critical timing events in the audio out of sync with the Playlist.

Working with the Wave Editor

  • Left Tabs — Control Volume, Pan and Pitch with the tabs down the left side.

    • Tap to add points — Existing points can be dragged.
    • Delete points — Tap and long-press point. Release to show delete option. Tapping outside points and dragging will allow you to select multiple points.
    • Vol, Pan, Pitch — Tap tabs to choose an envelope to apply it to the Audio Clip.
  • Time selection menu — After making a time-line selection there will be a (+) icon, tapping this opens a menu. If the (+) icon is not visible, tap one of the bars of the selection:

    • Deselect — Remove time-line selection.
    • Insert silence — Insert time equal to the selection length. Audio straddling the selection, will be sliced at the start of the selection and moved to the right. Time will be added equivalent to the length of the selection.
    • Duplicate — All Audio in the selection will be sliced at the selection boundaries and copied to the right.
    • Clear — All Audio in the selection, will be sliced at the Clip boundaries and deleted.
    • Delete space — All Audio in the selection, will be sliced at the selection boundaries. Both Time and Audio will be deleted, Audio to the right will be moved left.
    • Trim selection — Audio will be sliced at the selection boundaries and everything outside the selection will be deleted (Time and Audio).
    • Normalize — Maximize the level of the audio in the selection. A multiplier is applied to all samples so that the loudest sample reaches 100%.
    • Fade in — Levels will be set from 0% to 100% over the range of the selection.
    • Fade out — Levels will be set from 1000% to 0% over the range of the selection.
  • Undo — Undo the last edit.
  • PRV — Solo preview the Audio while previewing the sample.
  • Level — Clip volume level.
  • Pan — Clip Pan (left/right position in the stereo field).
  • Pitch — Clip Pitch.
  • REV — Reverse the Clip.
  • SYNC — Synchronize the Clip to the project tempo. When selected, changing the BPM or Clip Length will change the play duration while pitch will remain fixed.

External MIDI Controllers

FL Studio Mobile can connect to external wired or Bluetooth MIDI controllers.
